| When is the deadline for Tradewinds ad submissions? You can place your ad online at any time and it will be posted within 2 business days. However, if you would like your ad to be posted in the following month's print version, you MUST get your ad in before 5:00 pm CST on the 20th of the month. Otherwise, there will be a one month lag between your online ad and your print ad. (For example, if you submit your ad on April 25th, it will be published online within 2 business days and printed in the June edition of Tradewinds.) How do I cancel an ad? You can cancel your ad directly online by selecting the "Change/Delete and Ad" option in the navigation. Ads will be instantly deleted from the online issue. How do I know if my online ad submission was successful? Once you submit your ad, you will see a pop up box which contains your confirmation number. Hold onto this confirmation number as you will need it to make changes or deletions to your ad. If you supplied an email at the time of your submission, you will also receive a confirmation email. Why haven't the fees been deducted from my MECU account? The ad fees are not automatically deducted from your account. An MECU representative will debit your account as soon as possible. What if I don't have an MECU account? You must have an active MECU account in order to advertise in Tradewinds. If you are a Motorolan without an MECU account, you can join MECU today. All it takes is a $5 deposit into a savings account to become a member and then you can enjoy all of the benefits MECU membership has to offer. How can I get tickets or more information about discounts offered in the Tradewinds? All discounts and tickets are offered through the Recreation and Special Services Department. You can contact them at 847/576-2348. How can I change something in my ad that I already submitted? You can change your ad online by simply going the the "Change/Delete an Ad" section and typing in your account number, ad confirmation number, and then selecting the "Locate Ad" option. This will bring up your ad for you to edit. Please note that print changes cannot be made if received after the 20th of the month. Do I have to cancel my ad if I don't want it to run again next month? No. Ad submissions are only good for one month. My company would like to offer discounts to Motorolans. How can I advertise in the Tradewinds? All discounts and tickets are offered through the Recreation and Special Services Department who supply a page in the Tradewinds each month. No. As a policy, Tradewinds will not publish ads for any businesses/services offered for profit (including home-based), nor ads for not-for-profit organizations. Can I advertise a fundraiser/special event in the Tradewinds? No. As a policy, Tradewinds will not publish any ads for not-for-profit organizations. Can I submit an ad for tobacco products, alcohol or firearms for sale? No. As a policy, Tradewinds will not publish ads including the sale of tobacco, drugs, firearms or alcohol, nor any ads including items for sale relating to tobacco, drugs, firearms or alcohol, or anything else illegal. If I submit my ad online, will my ad only appear online or in the paper edition of Tradewinds as well? All ads that are submitted to Tradewinds, appear in both the online edition and the paper edition. When will Tradewinds be available? Tradewinds ads are available 24-7 online and in paper the third business day of the month. Where can I pick up a copy of Tradewinds? Tradewinds can be picked up throughout Illinois Motorola facilities, MECU service centers in Illinois and online. Can I use a Motorola phone number, pager number or e-mail address for contact information within my Tradewinds ad? As a policy, Tradewinds does not allow Motorola phone numbers, extensions, pager numbers or e-mail addresses to be used within your ad as contact information.
